Dr Xiang Salim is an Orthopaedic Surgeon who is passionate and dedicated to providing the best care for his patients. Xiang specialises in sports injuries about the knee and shoulder as well as complex and revision joint replacement surgery.
Born in Perth, Xiang completed his medical training at the prestigious University of Western Australia. He was selected for Orthopaedic specialist training in 2017 with the Australian Orthopaedic Association and the Royal Australian College of Surgeons. After completing his Orthopaedic training he commenced work in the Arthroplasty Unit at Fremantle Hospital and the Orthopaedic Trauma Unit at Fiona Stanley Hospital where he gained further experience in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgical techniques.
Internationally, Xiang has completed two post graduate subspecialty fellowships. He was awarded fellowship at the highly regarded UniSports Orthopaedic Clinic where Xiang had the opportunity to work with a number of internationally renowned surgeons and treat several elite level sports teams. Xiang also completed a fellowship in complex and revision joint replacement with Dr Kelly Vince, one of North America’s most respected and illustrious joint replacement surgeons. Xiang has also sought further training with several international visitations throughout Australasia and North America including time at the prestigious Mayo Clinic.
To contribute to the scientific and academic community, Xiang is involved in research in osteotomy and joint preservation surgery as well as robot-assisted joint replacement surgery. He is also a passionate teacher and is proudly involved with the training and mentoring of future Orthopaedic surgeons.
In his time away from work, Xiang spends most of his time with his Wife and his two beautiful children. He enjoys surfing, playing golf and having barbecues with his friends and family.
